QB Pro, QB Premier, and QB Point-of-Sale to be Discontinued

QuickBooksTo our dear and loyal customers, we regret to inform you that Intuit has decided to discontinue QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier as of August 1st, 2023, and QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale 19.0 as of October 3rd, 2023, as their business model moves towards the sale of cloud-based solutions. Thus, there will be no future versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier and QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale software as Intuit will no longer be selling QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier and QuickBooks Desktop-Point-of-Sale to new customers.

Please note that the following connected services for QuickBooks Point-of-Sale will also be turned off on October 3rd, 2023:

  • QuickBooks Point-of-Sale online Payments
  • QuickBooks Point-of-Sale online Gift Card Service
  • Mobile Sync
  • Intuit Store Exchange
  • E-commerce integration with Webgility
  • Support Plans, including Live Support (phone, email, chat)
  • Vendor Lookup Service
  • QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop
  • QuickBooks Enterprise Cloud
  • QuickBooks Online

Also please note that Intuit will continue to sell:

  • QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop
  • QuickBooks Enterprise Cloud
  • QuickBooks Online

 


What does this mean for our existing customers on QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier?

This means that while QuickBooks Desktop will remain available for current owners, you won’t see any further updates or support from Intuit. Personalized Quality Systems Limited will still be here to support you. Some of your options are:

  1. Depending on your needs assessment, you can migrate your accounting data to another software package such as AccountEdge, Xero, or QuickBooks Online Global.
  2. If you are currently on a QuickBooks Desktop subscription, a sunset date for your software is yet to be determined.
  3. For all clients who are using older versions, you can still run these but please note the risks associated i.e., Intuit will no longer provide support for problems that Personalized Quality Systems Limited cannot solve.

 

What does this mean for our existing customers on QuickBooks Point of Sale?

  1. Support for existing QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale 19.0 customers remains unchanged.
  2. All existing QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale 19.0 customers can also purchase additional seats and hardware. However, as of August 1st, no new store licenses can be purchased by existing clients.
  3. You can continue to use QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale 19.0 without these services after October 3, 2023, but Intuit will no longer provide support, including critical security patches.
  4. You can migrate to an alternative Point-of-Sale. There are many Point-of-Sale options on the market such as Vend/Lightspeed, Shopify, Square up, and AccuPOS.
